"The Bedlam Bedbug"

Films: Insect (1987)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: Goes from that of an average beetle to three times that of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: So, there's a killer bug going around the place. That's pretty bad. What's that? Some idiots gave it drugs and blew up its size? Wow. Just...wow. We're dead.

History: A stowaway on a strange plant from a new island in Micronesia, this little insect wasted no time invading the first man it touched in a hospital, emerging out of his mouth and infecting him with a deadly explosive disease. While the bug was contained, some irresponsible children fed it a ton of growth hormones, causing it to balloon in size and start killing more people so that its brood may prosper.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The steroid-enhanced insect's brood is torched, and the enraged beast follows suite when it gets a laser to the eyes. However, at least one bug remains…

Powers/Abilities: An enhanced bug can reproduce at an alarming rate, take most gunfire, and spread a deadly disease.

Weakness: The big ones cannot stand getting hit in the eyes. They also aren't particularly strong against anything made of metal.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-While the prop can be a bit unwieldy at times, this is one sick bug. The base form is bad enough with its diseases and elusiveness, but a big one, while a larger target, looks like an unholy cross between a beetle and a mantis.

Trivia: -Yes, we're aware that this film is more popularly known as "Blue Monkey", but do you really think that's a fitting title?! Admittingly, it's based on a nightmare one of the characters have, but it's flimsy nonetheless.

-Speaking of which, and if you can believe it, this film was actually going to be titled "Green Monkey"! But then it gets weirder, because that was scrapped due to conspiracy theories about green monkeys spreading AIDS! What...universe are we living in where a big mutant bug gets pushed to the side in favor of primates???

Survival is never a "phase".

Green really isn't your color.
As if we needed another reason to get away from steroids.

Still better than through the chest.
Better title, same result.

"Hey! I'm just looking for my pen, human!"
